Calcium difluoride
Shape: irregular particles
Generally, evaporation boats or crucibles made of tungsten, molybdenum and tantalum are used. It belongs to the equiaxed crystal system and is cubic, octahedral or dodecahedron. General CaF2 is colorless crystal or white powder, and natural ore contains impurities, slightly green or purple, and emits light when heated. When dissolved in aluminum salt and iron salt solution, it forms a complex, which reacts with hot concentrated sulfuric acid to form hydrofluoric acid. Hydrogen fluoride can be prepared by the reaction of calcium fluoride with concentrated sulfuric acid in a lead container. Can form eutectic with various metal oxides.
